The 11th China Agricultural Trade Fair (CATF 2013)will be held in Wuhan International Expo Center (WIEC) of Hubei Province from November 30 to December 3, 2013, under the co-sponsorship of MOA and the People's Government of Hubei Province.
As those held in the past ten years,CATF2013 will still focus on the theme of "demonstrating achievements, facilitating communication and promoting trade', and provide business opportunities for suppliers and purchasers of "outstanding, green and high-tech' agro-products. In line with the instructions of MOA, CATF2013 will enhance its basic role in showcasing and communicating advanced agricultural progresses, while improve the "professional, market-oriented and brand-building' service for agro-trade and marketing.
Moreover, CATF 2013 has also adopted innovations in its preparation and operation. In response to the "eight-point' code released by the central authorities to cut bureaucracy and maintain close ties with the people, CATF of this year has made several adjustments: first, in line with the spirit of "diligence and frugality', the Fair has streamlined major activities and curtailed expenses by cancelling reception banquet, leaders' special session and purchasers' special session from its agenda, calling off exhibition gifts, and simplifying the construction and decoration of exhibition sites; second, while maintaining its basic function of agricultural demonstration and exhibition, CATF 2013 has particularly improved the targeted service for enterprises, products and business talks. For example, priorities of this year have been placed on enterprise brand building, product sales promotion, and favorable climate creation for trade talks. In addition, the organizers have made good efforts to cut cost and save funds to arrange diversified promotion events and invite more influential purchasers; and third, the market-oriented approach has been applied along all processes including exhibitor recruitment, ads running, on-site service delivering, side event execution, and so on.
It is believed that CATF 2013 will be an outstanding event featuring the following advantages: first, remarkable scale. The total exhibition area reaches 120,000 square meters, a record high in CATF history; second, optimized exhibition pattern. The displaying site is divided into five distinct zones (Comprehensive Zone, Professional Zone, Hubei Province Zone, International Zone and Specialized Zone), while a concurrent side event Wuhan Agricultural Expo has established four unique pavilions for Hubei specialties, Wuhan specialties, farm machinery and fine-food respectively; third, a good number of exhibitor delegations. In addition to 33 traditional delegations from 31 provinces, Xinjiang Production & Construction Corps and Taiwan, there are four delegations from national modern agricultural demonstration zones, aquaculture industry, seed industry and Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences; and fourth, active participation of enterprise exhibitors. Over 4,000 enterprises will attend CATF 2013 and Wuhan Agricultural Expo, as estimated by the organizers.
